rns and colors of the teapot. There is an intricated and readable blue mark under the lid reading Imari Japan and the lid has an orifice ( hole) and the finial is like a round button shape with gold color top and same pattern as tea pot. All 3 pieces of the teapot; lid, handle and teapot are in good conditions with some typical age related wear. The teapot doesn’t have any marks on the bottom. So, this could be very old or this could have had a sticker on the bottom. I believe this is a very old teapot but I can only guess because I could not find the exact one on the internet.
Attractive Kyusu or Japanese teapot, also called a Sencha Teapot as it is used for brewing green tea. The patterns are specific IMARI style and colors . Floral medallions and diamonds geometrical shapes, with beautiful matching lid. There are a wonderful mixture of colors ; dark terracotta red, rust and gold. Hand painted white and shiny glazed all over inside and out.
